Society members Sue & Gerald Collini have very kindly agreed to provide a tour of their private woodland on the edge of Sudborough (there are no public footpaths). We will gather outside 'BB's former home 'The Round House' at 10.30am and travel this short distance to our venue where coffee will be served in the lodge in the centre of the wood, we will have a conducted tour of this well managed area and see the wonderful bluebells after which we will enjoy a well deserved lunch in the lodge for £10.00 per head - a great day out in woodland that would have been well known to 'BB'.

Our member David Osbourne has organised this tour by special arrangement at 2.15pm. one of the finest County houses in the land, Drayton House has been in private ownership for almost a thousand years. This presents a very rare opportunity to visit a unique Grade I listed home close to 'BB's home in Sudborough. We depart from 'The Snooty Fox' Inn in Lowick (just south of Sudborough) at 2.00pm. If you would like a light lunch arrive around 1.00pm and let the leader know. The house visit costs £10.00 per person.

25th Anniversary Service

All Saints Church, Lamport.

The BB Society held a special service at All Saints Church in Lamport (where BB’s father was Rector in the 1920s), on the 8th September 2015 to mark the 25th anniversary of BB’s death.

The service was led by Society member Reverend Tom Gladwin supported by resident Reverend Canon Mary Garbutt and featured readings by BB Society members from BB's published works including extracts from BB’s autobiography A Child Alone.

The BB Society is now in its 15th year, so it was a double celebration.

After the service lunch was served at Lamport Hall opposite the Rectory where BB grew up.

This was a memorable and enjoyable occasion and allowed us to remember and celebrate the life and legacy of a great countryman, writer, artist and conservationist who implored us all to ‘Look ye also while life lasts’.
